Another week has come and gone, and our athletes are all working extremely hard towards their first competition of the year! The countdown to Winterfest is on!

 

REMINDER

Due to daylight savings ending, it is often dark when our first round of classes finish at the gym each evening. We would like to remind all parents that they need to come into the gym/studio to pick up their child, as we want to always ensure the safety of our athletes. With the cold weather, we ask that all athletes rug up as they are leaving the gym so they can avoid getting sick!

 

NOTE TO ALL ATHLETES

A reminder to please keep noise levels down when leaving the gym and studio, especially late at night so that we don’t disturb our neighbours across the road! McDonalds is open late for those who wish to have a chat after class over a coffee!

 

WORLDS 2017

The Cheerleading and Dance World Championships were held in Orlando, Florida over the weekend past!

A huge congratulations is in order for all the Aussie teams who took the Worlds stage and represented our country so fantastically! The standard of competitive all star cheerleading and dance is increasing at a rapid rate, and it is amazing to see how well our Australian cheer and dance teams did, which represented itself in how they performed and their placing.

Congratulations to Coach Jay, who competed in both semi-finals and finals with his team Outlaws Notorious, bringing home 5th place!

 

DREAMTYME DANCE ACADEMY GRAND OPENING!

Come along this Sunday (May 7th) and be a part of our brand new studio Grand Opening day! Bring along your friends and family (and whoever else you think might love it!) and come along for a day filled with food, fun and DANCE!

The day kicks off at 12:00pm with a BBQ, Colouring competition, a chance to meet and chat with the coaches and more fun!

HIP HOP @ DREAMTYME DANCE ACADEMY!

We are so excited to be welcoming Tori Monk on board our DTDA staff to teach hip hop classes in our studio!

Classes will be running on Tuesday nights!

Junior (14 years and Under) Hip Hop: 4:30-5:30pm

Open (14 years and Over) Hip Hop: 5:30-6:30pm

MEET OUR COACHES

Maddy White
Cheer, stunt and flex and control coach

A little about me: I started cheerleading in 2009 at my high school, Aquinas Collage where we had coaches from All Star Cheerleading. With my background of calisthenics, tap and jazz I quickly fell in love with the sport and was lucky enough for the all-star coaches to notice me and they asked me to join. Since then I have competed at worlds two times and lived in Kentucky to train with Gymtyme all Stars. Away from cheer I enjoy everything to do with Health and Fitness as I am about to begin my Cert IV in fitness and have many plans of building on this.
I have a brother and a cister who are both older than me and two cats named Marvin and Milly.  

What do you enjoy most about coaching? Seeing people improve their skills and get new skills, they become so proud of themselves and what their body can do, knowing that I helped my athletes is the most uplifting feeling.

What motivates you? I am motivated by what I love pushing my body to the limits, I motivate myself by trying to outdo myself, knowing that I can do, the more today than what I could yesterday is always a great feeling.
