Updates from the Dream Factory!

The gym has been buzzing this week as teams have been starting to put their competition routines together!

Have you ordered one of our personalized training jumpers yet? These hoodless/zipless sweaters are fantastic for training in cooler weather! If you havent’ gotten your order in, orders are due on Saturday April 1st with full payment.

Our International Open 5 team, and our youth level 2 DreamWeavers got to work with Joe this week, creating exciting pyramids for their routines! Thank you Joe, We can't wait to perfect these!

Coach Shannon is very excited that our tiny team the DreamSparkles has started their routine choreography during trainings, and is super impressed with how well they are all learning it! Learning routines can be tedious, but is an essential part of the sport. Well done DreamSparkles!

RollaFLEX Foam Rolling session!

Our all girl level 5 team was lucky enough to have a RollaFLEX session with Tiffaney Nish, from Nutritionish on behalf of YMCA and Noble Park Aquatic Centre. RollaFlex increased blood circulation and flexibility, and can reduce scar tissue and muscle imbalances. It improves range of movement and our athletes benefitted greatly! Thank you Tiffaney and NPAC! You can find out more from their Facebook pages via the links below!

NIGHTMARES!

Coaches Maddy, Shannon and Taylor are super proud of our gorgeous mini’s for their progressions with their stunting this week! They have achieved their load in bump up to prep! This is where the bases go from holding the flyer in their hands at their belly buttons, to holding the flyers feet underneath their chins with the flyers standing up nice and tall! Well-done Nightmares!

Coach Sophie!

Dance Coach

A little about me:

I am a retired professional dancer and aerialist and a qualified Pilates teacher, Personal Trainer and Dance teacher. I’ve been dancing for 25 years now and had my first performance job when I was seven years old. The highlight of my performance career was spending four years as a dancer, diver and aerialist at Tokyo Disney Resort. . I’ve been teaching for DreamTyme since 2014, working mostly with DreamElite and am super excited to be in the gym working with many more of you this year! I am incredibly passionate about movement and discovering new ways of moving and caring for our bodies and can’t wait to share my knowledge with you all!

What do you enjoy most about coaching?

I love finding each individual’s strengths and helping you to find your special way to shine. It is the best feeling in the world when I see you guys finally grasp that concept you were struggling with and apply it to your movement!

What motivates you?

Movement! I am so inspired by what the human body is capable of and finding the balance between what we are asking our bodies to do for our sport and what is safe and healthy for our bodies as human beings, not just dancers and athletes.

Favourite motivational quote:

“Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are great because of their passion.” Martha Graham

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Smoked Salmon - it’s brain food and it’s tasty!

Coach Ruby!

Junior Cheer Coach

A little about me:

I have always been a part of teams and groups my whole life, when I was 6 I was doing gymnastics and dance classes, I was a shy and quiet child so my parents put me in acting classes to boost my confidence and I really came out of my shell and am the confident, happy and loud person I am today!

What motivates you?

Others! My surroundings and peers motivate me, I have always participated in team sports because of that drive and motivation from your friends to push that extra last bit for your team. I also find motivation from the excitement of unknown; you never know how far you can get and what you can achieve unless you push yourself.

Favourite motivational quote:

Start unknown and finish unforgettable

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I would definitely eat Tacos or anything Mexican! Mmm!!

Looking forward to the week ahead!
