SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER 1 PRIORITY.

PLEASE KNOW and ACCEPT THE RISKS. Follow the rules and take care. Cheerleading is an action sport where injuries can happen. Like all sports, participants need to decide if the benefits of the involvement are worth the risk of injury, Keep within your limits and look out for others.

DreamTyme All Stars Cheer and Dance has a tightly managed and monitored safety system, developed around international industry best practice. Safety is our number 1 priority.

DreamTyme All Stars Cheer and Dance requires all customers become Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation (AASCF) Cheerleader and Dancer members. This includes genuine Personal Accident Insurance for the individual Cheerleader/Dancer. This is important not only for competition but also for all practice, performances and other events the Cheerleaders/Dancers may attend through AASCF, any other organization. The annual membership fee is A$15.00 per student and covers you from 1 Feb 2014 to 1 Mar 2015.

The general safety rules and guidelines for each area are displayed throughout DreamTyme All Stars. Our terms and conditions outline the risks and anyone participating in classes at DreamTyme is deemed to have accepted these conditions prior to participating.

Like most sporting activities, Cheerleading and dancing creates the potential for injury even when done properly and following appropriate rules and guidelines. Our rules and safety guidelines have been developed in conjunction with recognized safety experts with the specific direction to meet or exceed world’s best practice. To minimize the chance of dangerous situations, especially for inexperienced athletes, we have clearly posted rules at the entrance. These rules are enforced by all our staff.

9 Run Spring Floor:

DreamTyme All Stars has a 9 run sprung Ross Athletic Cheer floor. Ross Athletic are the leaders in gymnastics and Cheerleading spring floors.

6m Tumble Track

To minimize risks we ensure our tumble track adequately matted and padded in the highestdgrade padding available. We are continually working to ensure a safe environment through optimal design, engineering, construction, training and research.

International Standards/ Staff and expert supervision:

DreamTyme All Stars staff are credentialed through USASF, the official All Star Federation in the United States. Associated with International All Star Federation. The DreamTyme Staff are credentialed from level 1 to 5.

DreamTyme All Stars recruits staff that have significant experience in areas of cheerleading, gymnastics, trampolining, dance and associated sports and activities such as circus performance and sports coaching. All classes are supervised by trained staff. Our team at DreamTyme are trained in CPR and First Aid .

Cheerleading Shoes:

Anyone participating is required to wear cheer approved shoes. (Runners are permitted on the first class). Volleys and bare feet are not appropriate footwear. Correct shoes are designed to help maximize grip, to help maximize safety and general hygiene.

Training and Instruction

One of our primary safety principles is ensuring cheerleaders do not attempt any activity beyond their skill level. Classes will be available for all levels of ability to help develop skills from learning to cheer and dance safely through to specialized training.

Safety is our number 1 priority – Please understand the risks and take care DreamTyme All Stars Cheer and Dance is a physical action sports facility where injuries can happen. Like all sports, participants need to decide if the benefits of involvement are worth the risk of injury. Cheerleading, tumbling, stunting and dancing creates the risk for potential injury even when being safe. The potential for injury is greatly reduced when you:

  • Train within your skill level – Perfection before progression
  • Follow the rules
  • Watch out for other athletes

The whole point of DreamTyme is to have as much fun as possible while working in a positive team environment. A critical part of this is a safe environment to learn new skills within a team setting. Our rules and guidelines are designed to keep everyone safe and minimize the chance of injury. Rules are shown below in three categories: General Safety Rules (apply to the whole center), Tumble Track Safety Rules and Dance Studio Safety rules. You will also find these rules displayed around DreamTyme. Please read and follow them.

General Safety Rules:

  • DreamTyme approved attire (cheer shoes) must be worn
  • Alway check your finger nails before training
  • Watch out for other athletes, particaly in tumble class
  • Safely land on two feet or as instructed
  • Don't attempt any activity beyond your skill level
  • No wrestling or rough play
  • No food or drink on or neat the floor, tumble track or dance area
  • No using equipment unless supervised by an official coach

Tumble Track Safety Rules:

*Note this is not a trampoline

  • One person at a time
  • Ensure area is correctly matter (that matting hasn't moved)
  • Never jump without supervision
  • Safely land on your feet, bum or back
  • Remove all items from pockets, jewellery
  • Don't attempt any activity beyond your skill level
  • Don't jump or land on the padding - it is there as a safety precaution

Dance Studio Safety rules:

  • No running up the stairs
  • Always close with chain at top of stairs
  • Do not touch mirros
  • Never dance alone
  • Always wear appropriate dance shoes and attire
